Organic clicks rose from 170 to 1,311. Impressions rose from 10,660 to 85,190 and average position improved from 21.7 to 11.2. Click-through rate stayed almost flat. This is a coverage-and-rank case, not a snippet-only win.

The search problem

Trade buyers search by product, spec and job, not by a single brand term

PVC and related building products are bought against a job: fencing, windows, plumbing, cladding or a named specification. Thin category pages miss that language.

The public case does not list products, the supplier or the URLs. It only records whether organic discovery and clicks increased across the property.

Reading the result properly

The percentage looks dramatic because the starting base was small

Clicks rose by 1,141 from a base of 170. Impressions rose by 74,530. Average position moved from 21.7 to 11.2. CTR moved from 1.59% to 1.54%.

Treat the 671% figure as a small-base warning as well as a win. The useful proof is the extra 1,141 clicks and the rank shift, not the percentage on its own.

  • Trade SEO needs product and job-of-work pages, not a brochure homepage.
  • A large percentage from a small base still needs a click count next to it.
  • Once coverage jumps, the next job is converting those extra visits into quotes.

What this case study does and does not prove

This anonymised case study reports Google Search Console organic-search data for two equal 90-day periods. The client, property, pages and queries are withheld. It records visibility and clicks, not quotes, orders or revenue. Search Console cannot attribute the movement to a single action, and this result is not a guarantee.
