Anonymised organic-search case study

How a pool-control company grew clicks 80%

Organic clicks rose from 168 to 302. Impressions rose from 10,477 to 26,445. Average position and click-through rate both softened. This is a small-base coverage case: more discovery, with ranking and snippet work still sitting in front of it.

Redacted Search Console evidence

Coverage expanded faster than click efficiency

The chart uses redacted Search Console totals. Impressions more than doubled. Clicks rose, but CTR fell from 1.60% to 1.14% and average position moved from 29.8 to 34.5. The extra visits came with a weaker blended result.

The search problem

Specialist pool equipment is searched by system, not by a generic pool shop term

Buyers look for pumps, automation, variable-speed control and replacement parts with manufacturer and fault language. A thin distributor site will not meet that mix.

The public case withholds the company, the catalogue and the URLs. Search Console only shows whether discovery and clicks increased.

Reading the result properly

Treat the percentage as a small-base coverage win, then fix efficiency

Clicks rose by 134 from a base of 168. Impressions rose by 15,968. CTR moved from 1.60% to 1.14%. Average position moved from 29.8 to 34.5.

That is evidence of a wider search footprint, not proof that the listing got stronger. The next job is query groups where impressions arrived without a clickable result.

  • Niche B2B equipment sites can grow clicks from a small base once product language is indexed.
  • Impression growth with a weaker position is a map, not a finished result.
  • Connect Search Console to quote requests before calling the extra clicks commercial.

What this case study does and does not prove

This anonymised case study reports Google Search Console organic-search data for two equal 90-day periods. The client, property, pages and queries are withheld. It records visibility and clicks, not quotes, installs or revenue. Search Console cannot attribute the movement to a single action, and this result is not a guarantee.
