Anonymised organic-search case study
How a custom home builder added 2,433 organic clicks
Organic clicks rose from 7,201 to 9,634. Impressions grew more modestly, click-through rate improved, and average position weakened. That is a useful home-builder story: more visits from a slightly larger footprint, with ranking work still to do on the new queries.
Redacted Search Console evidence
More clicks from a larger, slightly less efficient ranking mix
The chart uses redacted Search Console totals. Clicks and impressions both rose. Average position moved from 18.0 to 24.0, so the extra visits came with a broader, weaker blended rank that still needs page-level work.
The search problem
Home-builder search splits across design, location, cost and build-stage language
People looking for a custom builder do not use one commercial phrase. They search by suburb, house style, rebuild, extension and cost language. A useful footprint needs enough real pages to meet that mix.
Search Console shows the aggregate movement. It does not name the builder, the site or the queries, and it cannot prove which page created each extra click.
Reading the result properly
CTR improved even as blended position softened
Clicks rose by 2,433 and impressions rose by 37,993. Click-through rate moved from 1.67% to 2.05%. Average position moved from 18.0 to 24.0.
That combination is consistent with more demand coverage, not a claim that every ranking improved. The next job is to isolate the new query groups where impressions outpaced position.
- Builder SEO should be judged on clicks and enquiry quality, not a single average-position headline.
- A weaker blended rank can sit next to more clicks when the site reaches a wider set of local and design searches.
- Search Console is a starting map. Page-level query work still has to follow.

What this case study does and does not prove
This anonymised case study reports Google Search Console organic-search data for two equal 90-day periods. The client, property, pages and queries are withheld. It records visibility and clicks, not quotes, deposits or completed builds. Search Console cannot attribute the movement to a single action, and this result is not a guarantee.
